Attack of the Joint Forces of Sudan Liberation Army North and The Rapid Support Forces on some areas in Abu Karshola locality, South Kordofan State

A joint forces of the new Alliance between Sudan People's Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked, and destroyed, number of villages in Abu Karsholalocality,SouthKordofanState,during EidAlFitar(AfterRamdanFestive),Civilians were killed and many thousand people displaced. Their property was stolen, including tractors, essential for cultivation, and what could not be stolen was burned. On the second day of Eid al-Fitr, April 1, 2025, the Khor al-Dalib area was attacked, forcing civilians to flee to various areas including Rashad City. The attack continued in neighbouring areas around Khor al-Dalib, resulting in the burning of the Maqafila area in Al-Fayd Um Abdullah and the displacement of residents of the AL Souk Al Gadim and the Al-Fayd Um Abdullah neighbourhoods. On April 6, the joint forces attacked Ombair village, killing large numbers of civilians, displacing thousands of families, and destroying essential water sources. More than 10 days later, many people are still missing and unaccounted for. In every area, the attacking forces looted citizens' property and carried off crops. The last agricultural season was relatively good, but people in the area have now lost everything and are in dire need of humanitarian aid at the time when there are huge gaps in humanitarian supplies. The areas now devastated have suffered from wars, and massive displacement, since June 2011, when the last war between SPLA-N and SAF erupted. In 2019, villagers finally began to return to their homes. Beginning in April 2023, they hosted people displaced from Khartoum and other parts of central Sudan as a result of the current, catastrophic war. Now they too, are on the move again, forced yet again to flee for their lives.

Justice Africa Sudan:

First: Condemns the attacks on civilians and the threat to people who were unarmed. Second: Demands that the SPLA-North and the Rapid Support Forces immediately cease their attacks and refrain from endangering unarmed civilians and their property. Third: Urges all the parties to the conflict in Sudan to immediately cease hostilities, allow access for humanitarian assistance, not block roads, and permit the free movement of civilians and goods.
